Classic Overnight Oats (MYO flavour!)

Overnight oats are a classic. You can’t beat them; super easy to bring together, perfect for a weekly prep, easy to consume on the go, and the flavour combinations can be endless, making everyday fun!

Not everyone has the same taste preferences, so I thought rather than making a specific flavoured recipe, I’ve put together the base recipe that I typically use for all of my overnight oat recipes, and then listed some of my recommended toppings and add-ins so you can flex your creative skills and make your own perfect jar!

Serves: 1 | Total Cooking Time: 10 minutes

Ingredients

Base:

  • 50g oats, gluten free as needed

  • 110ml plant milk of choice (I like unsweetened almond, oat, or soya milk)

  • 1 tsp ground flaxseeds

  • 1 tsp chia seeds

  • 1/2 banana (or sub for 1 tsp maple syrup). You can use the remaining banana for the topping!

Below are some of my favourite ingredients to make different flavours. Mix and match the ones you love and make your own flavour combo!:

  • 15g peanut or almond butter

  • Handful of raspberries, blueberries, cherries, or blackberries

  • 1-2tsp jam

  • Sprinkle of chopped nuts and seeds

  • Granola

  • 1/2 tsp ground sweet cinnamon (mixed into the base)

  • 1 tsp cacao powder (mixed into the base)

  • 10-15g vegan vanilla protein powder

Instructions

  1. Mash the banana on a plate with the back of a fork.

  2. Mix all of the base ingredients, including the mashed banana, together in small bowl or jar.

  3. Now get creative and add in any of the additional ingredients to make your own flavour! My fave combo is peanut butter, raspberries, jam and chopped peanuts.

  4. Once finished, a-fix your lid to your jar or cover your bowl and place in the fridge overnight to set.

  5. In the morning, dig in and enjoy!

Enjoy! Lots & lots of love.

P.S Please share with me on social if you made this, it really helps me a lot and I appreciate it more than you ever will know x
