Vegan Mint Chocolate Smoothie

If you’re a fan of mint choc ice cream, then this refreshingly vibrant but nutrient dense smoothie is right up your street. Ice cold banana paired with minty freshness and a slight hint of deep chocolate tones from the cacao, all whipped together with a creamy, high protein soya milk and last but not least, tangy lime to enhance iron absorption. Unreal.

Serves: 1 | Total Cooking Time: 5 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp cacao powder

  • 1 (100g) frozen banana

  • 125ml unsweetened soya milk (or oat for a nut-free option)

  • 1 handful fresh mint leaves

  • Juice of 1/4 lime

Optional additions:

  • 1/4 avocado

  • 1 level tsp of spirulina powder

  • 1 handful frozen spinach

  • 1 scoop vanilla vegan protein

  • 1 tsp maple syrup (if you like a slightly sweeter taste)

Instructions

  1. Throw everything into a blender and blend until smooth and thick, and that my friends, is it.

NOTE: I added my cacao powder after I blended the smoothie, purely for the picture. If you add the cacao powder during the blending, it will cause the end result to be a little browner - but still god damn delicious!

Enjoy! Lots & lots of love.
