Hazelnut Espresso Smoothie / Overnight Oats

This Hazelnut Espresso Smoothie/ overnight oats dish is such a quick, easy and delicious way to start your morning. The nut butter and oats grant this morning pick-me-up with an incredibly smooth and creamy texture, whilst the dates add that all-important sweetness but without the nasties that accompany regular sweetener.

Serves: 1 | Total Cooking Time: 5 minutes
Ingredients
Unsweetened plant-milk of choice* (see notes for quantity)
15g hazelnut butter (or almond butter)
40g (4) pitted Medjool dates
1 - 2 tsp instant coffee granules
15g vegan vanilla protein powder (linked is the one I use. Code ‘VEGAMBS’ will also get you 10% off sitewide)
To make overnight oats
50g Jumbo oats
(optional) 1 tbsp flaxseeds
Optional nutritional extras:
1 scoop creatine
Notes
*if making a smoothie, then start by having 200 ml milk and building up until you reach your desired consistency. If having overnight oats, then have 125ml milk
Instructions
If your dates are rather hard, place them in a bowl of boiling water for 5 or so minutes to help them blend easier. Discard the water before proceeding.
Place all the ingredients into a blender and blitz until smooth.
If making a smoothie then simply drink up and enjoy! If making overnight oats, then place in the fridge overnight in a fastened jar and allow it to thicken. Open it up in the morning and enjoy!
